Over time, corrosion can build up, causing a poor electrical connection. Also check the housing where the bulb sockets plug into. Make sure the housing is free of corrosion and the bulb sockets have a tight fit. The sockets ground through the housing, so both surfaces must be clean for electricity to flow, and give you the best lighting performance possible.
