OEM Toyota – Fits FJ60, BJ & HJ Series, BJ70 – 8/1980 – 7/1987 The shift lever seat is located in the neck of the transmission top cover, where the shift lever goes into the transmission. It gives the shifter a smooth surface to pivot on. If your manual shifter has a lot of play, or slop, even while in gear, the solution may be as simple as replacing this piece. *Tech Tip: To remove the shift lever retainer cap, you push it down and turn it clockwise.
